Julie Monot est titulaire d’un Bachelor en Arts Visuels de la HEAD à Genève (2017) et d’un Master en Arts Visuel de l’ECAL à Lausanne (2019). Sa pratique artistique s’inscrit dans différents médiums tels que la performance, l’installation et la vidéo. Ses recherches se sont, entre autres, concentrées sur les zones limites de l’extériorité corporelle et ses modes de représentations. La notion de figure fait partie de ses intérêts spécifiques, car cette notion est polysémique et mouvante, mais surtout, car elle permet un espace figural, critique sur nos constructions sociales. L’accessoire de transformation, le costume, la prothèse, le « mobilier » corporel et ses objets en lien à une praxis font partie de ses réflexions quotidiennes.
